
After the birth of her 6th son, I suddenly struggled with an unexplained weight gain and an inability to lose that excess 76 pounds. I tried every diet and exercise plan imaginable, all to no avail.
Through it all, I became educated in all things related to weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle. It took me nearly 6 years to lose the baby weight. Middle age set in, and the hormone dwarfs took control of my body. I gained back 40 pounds. Luckily, I was able to lose it once again, simply by working with my functional medicine doctor to balance my hormones.
Post-child bearing years: keeping the weight off has been a struggle. I realized that I had to stop the dieting, dump the scale and start eating for health.
I am a part-time professor at her local college and I frequently encourage my students not to become discouraged when embarking upon a weight loss journey. Each body is unique; What works for one person, may not have any effect at all on the next person.
When I am not teaching or cooking, I can be found tucked away in a quiet corner, doing the very thing that fills her soul … reading.

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition*, where I studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods. Additionally, I have been certified through IIN as a Hormone Health Coach. With my knowledge, we co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.
